Biography
Farhad Mehrad was a popular and versatile Iranian musician. He is recognized as one of the most influential and respected contemporary Iranian singers, having worked as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist.
He gained fame among rock, pop, and folk musicians before the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Notably, he released the first English rock and roll album in Iran. He was also a founding member of the popular Iranian band Black Cats.
Following the revolution, Farhad was prohibited from singing for several years in Iran. His first concert after this period took place in 1990. His work is further distinguished by his focus on social songs and themes.
